Median Nerve

The Median nerve arises from the lateral and medial cords of the brachial plexus.

When the median nerve is severed in the elbow region, flexion of the proximal interphalangeal joints of the 1st-3rd digits is lost and flexion of digits 4 and 5 is weakened. The most prominent signs of median nerve damage are ape hand and Benedictines sign.
