Parotid Duct

The Parotid Duct is located at the anterior edge of the gland approximately ½" inferior to the zygomatic arch. It crosses the anterior border of the masseter, and pierces the buccinator and mucous membrane of the cheek to enter the vestibule opposite the crown of the second maxillary molar tooth.

Blockage of the parotid duct will result in painful swelling of the parotid gland.
