Levator Veli Palatini
The Levator Veli Palatini arises at the apex of petrous part of the temporal bone and the medial surface of the auditory tube cartilage. It inserts into the soft palate and palatine aponeurosis. The vagus nerve (CN X) innervates the levator veli palatini. It elevates, retracts, and laterally deviates the soft palate.
