Long Head of Triceps Brachii

The Long Head of Triceps Brachii separates the teres major and teres minor muscles. It converges with the lateral and medial heads to form a flattened tendon that inserts into the posterior upper surface of the olecranon process.

The radial nerve and C7 innervate the triceps and wrist extensors. Other muscles supplied by C7 include pronator teres (median) and wrist flexors (median and ulnar). Neurological examination of forearm and wrist extension, forearm pronation, and wrist flexion permits differentiation between root level and specific nerve involvement.
