Profunda Brachii Artery
The Profunda Brachii artery
is the largest branch of the brachial artery. It courses posteriorly in the
extensor compartment of the arm, accompanying the radial nerve in the radial
groove. It ends by dividing into the middle and radial collateral arteries.
The profunda brachii artery gives rise to multiple collateral branches to provide collateral circulation to the shoulder and elbow joint areas.
