Spleen

Lying posteriorly below the diaphragm in the left upper quadrant, the Spleen is the most intraperitoneal organ of the abdominopelvic cavity. Its long axis is parallel with ribs 9, 10, and 11.

Accessory spleens, individual or combined masses of variable size, may lie in the gastrosplenic ligament, in the greater omentum, or other locations.
