Common Bile Duct

Common Hepatic Duct
Cystic Duct
Main Pancreatic Duct

The left and right hepatic ducts unite to form the Common Hepatic Duct. The common hepatic duct unites with the Cystic Duct to form the Common Bile Duct. The common bile duct passes posterior to the bulb of the duodenum and is related to its superior, posterior, and inferior aspects. It joins the Main Pancreatic Duct, and penetrates the posteromedial wall of the descending duodenum as the greater duodenal papilla. The common bile duct, proper hepatic artery, and the portal vein are the primary constituents of the lesser omentum.
